As you know the president has now signed the 2008 Economic Stimulus Plan. In addition to sizable refunds being sent to individuals, the stimulus plan also provides added incentives for businesses such as yours.

The stimulus package includes two major tax incentives for businesses, particularly designed to serve the needs of small business, which are the life-blood of the US economy.  The new plan will allow for BONUS DEPRECIATION and a NEW EXPENSE DEDUCTION. 

The Bonus Depreciation will allow small businesses to receive a 50% tax deduction on new equipment purchased in the year it is put into service.  The hope is that this will create an incentive for businesses such as yours, to invest and create more jobs for American workers.

Section 179, Expensing, provides for businesses with the opportunity to fully expense $250,000 in tangible property in the year it was purchased up to an overall investment limit of $800,000.  The hope is that this incentive, too, will drive growth in businesses and create jobs.
